Achar in India means Pickle. Achari Dahi Bhindi is a very famous Punjabi dish made with Indian spices. The spices added are very less but the unique achari spices add flavour to this dish. It's simple and easy to make and is delicious.

Steps

  1. Wash and completely dry the okras. Cut them into 2 or three pieces each.
  2. Mix the curd with turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder and salt. Make sure there are no lumps.
  3. In a wok add the oil and heat it. Fry the okra till done and keep them aside.
  4. In the remaining oil add the fennel seeds, Nigella seeds, fenugreek seeds, mustard seeds and a pinch of asafoetida. Sauté for few seconds.
  5. Add the chopped ginger and tomatoes. Fry for about 5 minutes.
  6. Slowly add the curd mixture and about ¼ cup water. Mix well and let It come to a boil.
  7. Add the okras and cook till the gravy is thick are coats the pieces of okra.

Serving Instructions

Serve it with hot phulka or chapatis
