Main Ingredients Sago

Sabudana or sago which very popular during fast. Sabudana pakoda is a famous delicacy of Maharashtra. It's very easy to make and is delicious to eat. You can even shallow fry them instead of deep frying them to cut down some calorie.

  • 1 cup sago soaked
  • ½ cup peanuts roasted and crushed
  • 3 potatoes boiled
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 2 green chillies finely chopped
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped coriander leaves
  • ¼ cup rice flour for dusting
  • salt to taste
  • oil for frying

Steps

  1. In a large bowl add the soaked sago, cumin seeds, boiled and mashed potatoes, crushed peanuts, lemon juice, coriander leaves, green chillies and salt.
  2. Mix it lightly taking care not to crush the sago.
  3. Take about tablespoons of mixture and form small round with a the help of rice flour. Pat them a little to give them a button like shape.
  4. Heat oil in a skillet ans shallow fry them or you can also deep fry them.
  5. Serve hot with chutney

Serve it hot with tea and chutney
