The Kulfi is a traditional Indian dessert. This dessert has numerous varieties in India. Mango Kulfi is a seasonal dessert as fresh mangoes are not always available. But this can be easily made with canned mango pulp.

  • 1 liter milk
  • 150 grams evaporated milk
  • 150 grams sugar
  • 1 ½ cup mango pulp ( i have used tinned)
  • 1 pinch cardamom powder

Steps

  1. Pour the entire milk into a heavy bottom saucepan and bring it to boil.
  2. Lower the heat and add the evaporated milk to the saucepan.
  3. Stir continuously till it is half the original quantity. Make sure to keep the heat low to medium or else may burn. Also make sure to keep on stirring constantly so that it does not burn.
  4. If by any chance your milk has just started to burn, immediately change the vessel so that the smell does not spread through the entire milk.
  5. Once the milk is reduced add the sugar and stir so that it dissolves.
  6. Transfer into a bowl and let it to cool completely.
  7. Add a pinch of cardamom powder and the mango pulp and stir it well.
  8. Pour it into an individual Kulfi mould and let it set overnight.

Serving Instructions

Serve it with freshly chopped mango and nuts and drizzle some mango pulp over it.
