Moong dal khichidi is a perfect one-dish meal. Moong dal khichdi is considered to be a very simple bland dish usually served to people who are ill, have upset stomach, since it is easy for digestion. Moong dal Khichdi is very simple and easy to make it require only a few ingredients and spices.

Steps

  1. Soak the Rice and split Green Moong Dal recipe for 20 minutes.
  2. In a deep wok , heat some oil.
  3. Add the mustard seeds and cumin seeds and wait till they splutter.
  4. Add asafetida, minced garlic, chopped green chilies and curry leaves and fry till raw smell from garlic goes away.
  5. Now add turmeric powder and garam masala and add the soaked rice and Green Moong Dal. Fry for 3 to 4 minutes.
  6. Now add water (2.5 cups), add salt according to taste and bring it to a boil, then cover and cook.

Serving Instructions

Serve it hot with Papad, Kadhi or Achar(pickle) of your choice.
