Vegetable Dalia (Porridge)

Vegetable Dalia is a healthy and nutritious meal for breakfast. The real taste comes when served hot. It is a perfect and wholesome meal for Tiffin box also.

  • 2 cup dry roasted dalia (wheat porridge)
  • 1 small green capsicum
  • 1 cup green peas (matar)
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tomato
  • 1 cup boiled sweet corn kernels
  • finely chopped coriander
  • ½ tsp red chilly powder
  • ½ tsp chat masala
  • 1 tbsp oil/ghee
  • salt to taste

Steps

  1. Finely chop capsicum, onions and tomatoes.
  2. Heat oil /ghee in a pressure cooker, add onions and fry till golden brown.
  3. Add chopped capsicum to it and fry for another 2 minutes.
  4. Add the chopped tomatoes and mix it well. Stir it for few seconds and then
  5. Now add salt and chilly powder to the veggies and stir it for another 2 minutes.
  6. To this veggie mixture add dry roasted dalia and stir for 2 minutes.
  7. Pour 3 cups of water so that the dalia gets cooked easily and cover the cooker with its lid.
  8. Cook it till the pressure cooker releases 2 whistles. Let it rest for a while after putting off the fire.
  9. Delicious Vegetable Dalia is ready to serve. Garnish it with fresh and finely chopped coriander.

Serving Instructions

Serve hot.
